FARM STEW, in partnership with Parousia Mission, is transforming lives in rural Ethiopia through practical, hands-on training that equips families to fight hunger, prevent disease, and build sustainable livelihoods. In early 2025, communities in Bedesa, Nekemete, Tsio, Anka, and Bona received instruction in kitchen gardening, composting, and nutrition-sensitive agriculture, as well as health and hygiene practices like handwashing, safe water use, and improved cooking methods. Families also learned to prepare nutritious meals, manage money, and start small businesses through Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs). Menstrual hygiene education was launched for schoolgirls, and certified communities from previous years received follow-up visits to ensure lasting impact. The program is already sparking positive change, with families embracing healthier habits, better farming techniques, and greater hope for the future.
