Kuac-ja Two

Kuac-Ja 2 is a rural community located in Tonj South County, Warrap State. Families here depend mainly on farming and livestock rearing, cultivating sorghum, millet, and groundnuts alongside keeping cattle, which remain central to their culture and livelihoods. The village is remote, with poor roads that become nearly impassable during the rainy season, cutting residents off from markets and essential services. Poverty is widespread in Kuac-Ja 2. Most households struggle with chronic food shortages, especially in the lean season, when harvests run out and families rely on small livestock or wild foods to survive. Schools exist but are under-resourced, with children often learning without books or proper classrooms. Access to healthcare and clean water is limited, exposing families to preventable diseases. These challenges keep many households trapped in cycles of vulnerability, yet the community remains resilient, working hard to rebuild livelihoods and provide for their families despite the hardships.
