Arudre Saving is a community located in the Boroli 1 Refugee Settlement, Pakelle Sub-county, Adjumani District, Uganda, primarily inhabited by South Sudanese refugees. Many households engage in small-scale farming, growing maize, beans, and vegetables, while others supplement their income through local trade and small businesses. The community is particularly known for its active participation in savings and loan groups, which help residents access credit, develop income-generating activities, and build financial resilience. While the community faces challenges such as limited access to healthcare, education, clean water, and economic opportunities, residents collaborate closely through savings groups and communal activities to support one another. These initiatives foster social cohesion and help the community navigate the difficulties of refugee life, gradually improving livelihoods and enhancing resilience.
