Gasenyi centre is an urban community located in Buganda commune, province of Cibitoke. In that community, residents make agriculture and trade activities to make income by selling grilled meats, fruit and banana products. This small business pays local taxes and contributes revenue to the commune. Still, there are also many challenges: 1) Poor sanitation and damaged latrines from rains exacerbate disease spread. Sometimes, cholera, diarrhea and diseases are linked to the poor water. 2) Many households don’t have their own houses, they only rent them. 3) The low income which cannot often cover even basic family’s needs. When drought or poor harvest strike, families suffer.
