Turuju Two

Turuju 2, a rural village in Ikwotos County, Eastern Equatoria State, is home to hardworking families who depend on the land and their animals to survive. Most grow sorghum, millet, and groundnuts, but with poor soils, little access to tools, and unpredictable rains, harvests are often meager. During the rainy season, the rough roads turn to mud, isolating the community from markets, schools, and health centers. Life here is not easy. Many families run out of food before the next harvest and survive on whatever small livestock or wild foods they can find. Children attend school in crowded classrooms, often without books or proper desks, while families struggle without reliable healthcare or clean water. Yet, in the face of these challenges, the people of Turuju 2 remain strong and hopeful working their fields, caring for their children, and dreaming of a future where their community can thrive.
